Computer Graphics
I have been doing computer graphics professionally since the year 2000. My duties have run the full gamut of production, from storyboarding, concept work and previs, through modeling, animation, lighting and the final composite. I’ve shot and edited video, hung out of the side of a helicopter to shoot still photos, and been on fancy Hollywood sound stages for commercial shoots. Generally, though, my work falls into the ‘technical director’ category, consisting of mostly modeling, shading, and lighting, with a side of supervision.
Now, I work for Pixar Animation Studios in beautiful Emeryville, California. In my spare time, I also sometimes do a bit of freelance illustration work for magazines. Below, you can find images from the various areas of computer graphics in which I have worked. Also, in the navigation bar above, you can find a link to a few tutorials that I have written over the years and that some may find helpful.
Portfolio
Here one can find galleries of my professional work. It is divided up into categories for feature film, television commercials, print illustration and an older work section, which has work from before I entered the film industry.

Demo Reels
The banners below link to my 2008 reels, my reel circa Nov 2003 and my reel as of May 2000. The 2008 reel is what I used to get my current job at Pixar with. The 2008 reel is split into three separate reels, one for commercials, one for film and one for modeling turntables. The 2003 reel is the one I used to get my job at The Orphanage, and the 2000 reel was what I used to get my job at Real Media. I dug up the two older reels for a talk I did at the Kansas City Art Institute, and I figured people might get a kick out of seeing how I got my jobs, so I put the reels online as well.
These reels are hosted on Vimeo, so clicking one will take you to the appropriate page there. (coming soon, once I get them all uploaded)
